Sorry, that "test" is just bullshit. It was obviously conducted by the folks 
who want to sell you a Supermax. I agree with Ron Rodgers that it's a good 
anchor, but I can tell you that the Fortress is also an excellent mud 
anchor, and the Spade, which is what I use now, will anchor and hold well in 
mud too, just takes a bit longer to set. Anchoring is an art as well as a 
science. You can't just dump an anchor out and forget it. Test results that 
show neither the Fortress or Spade setting in mud are obviously just plain 
wrong.

By the way, to the original poster, these are the two anchors I carry on my 
bow at all times. The Spade is my primary, on all chain. The Fortress was my 
primary for years and years. They both work well in mud, and the Spade will 
work in lots of different conditions. Get at least one size bigger than they 
recommend for your boat.
