GL: How much Propane

Scott,

1 each 20 pound tank and 1 each 5 pound tank will be plenty for your 
use.  We lived aboard full time for more than 8 years.  We used propane 
for our stove, refrigerator, hot water and furnace and only carried two 
20 pound tanks.  We found a tank lasted us 14 days (about a month with 
both).  More importantly we found we were never more than 1 or 2 days 
from somewhere where we could get the tank filled. (and that includes 
the Bahamas) Just don't hook them up in parallel or you won't know when 
one goes empty.   Instead use them one at a time and when one goes 
empty, start looking for a place to fill that one up.  You probably will 
get 2-3 weeks use on just the 5 pound tank and 2-3 months on the 20 
pound tank.
