I too bought a boat to cruise in. Theres no other place We would rather be.
Thats why the boat needs waxing.
The grass needs cutting.
BUT we are headed to the coast !

Absolutely agree with Randy and the others who expressed agreement with
the X-foot rule. I bought Sanderling to cruise, and if the maintenance
item isn't safety, operational, or comfort related, it can wait if
there's a cruise to take!

Our teak is in dire need of touching up after three months in a dusty
boat yard in the Florida sun (before departure), and the re-coring of
the port-side teak deck is still a work in progress (teak not replaced).
Topsides haven't been waxed in years, and it shows when you are less
than 15 feet away. However, we're about half way through the best and
longest cruise we've undertaken.
