Martin,
There is no reason for you to pull into a marina on the East Coast and
not know the charges up front. In fact the lack of this information in
the Waterway Guides is what prompted us to begin publishing a book
called Marinas Along the Intracoastal Waterway 10 years ago. In this
book all the marinas from the Hudson River to Key West are listed with
the current charges, including transient and monthly fees, pumpout fees,
cable TV fees and even fuel prices. This book is updated once per year
and the book just came out for 2006 on August 1, 2006.
While all things are relative and prices change every day, this is the
closest you will ever get to having the price at your finger tip when
you tie up at a marina. As of today, the average price for a transient
stay on the East Coast is $1.68 per foot (not counting a fee for
electric if there is one). The highest priced marina is Little Palm
Island Resort at ICW mile 1215.0 where a 36' boat is charged $411.25 for
a one night stay or about $11.42/foot.
